Doggone Hints

Here are a few doggone good hints that we use for all
three of our beloved dogs.
- We keep the dry food outside in a large metal trash
can, with a tight-fitting lid. This protects the food from varmints who can
chew through plastic, as well as keeping the dog food dry.
- In the summertime we bring out a large plastic
child's wading pool and fill with water for "the boys" to keep cool.
- Pick up extra blankets and towels at flea markets
and garage sales to use for bedding. Donate what ever you don't use to your
local animal shelter. Recycle newspapers as bedding too!
- To make it easier to give our dogs their heartworm
pills, I tempt them with a little butter first, then the pill hidden in a
glob of butter. I bribe them with a little more buttery stuff, so they will
completely swallow the pills.
- For a quick "brushing" I put on my gardening gloves
and give the dogs a rubdown! They get a massage at the same time!
